36 inch down draft electric cooktop

We purchased this cook top to replace an old JennAire 48 inch cook top; with down draft. Largest down draft cook top available was 36 inch. our installer did a fantastic job of making a custom cutting board to fill in the difference in size. It is important to have a great installer and designer at the retailer. We did not want to cut the granite counter top; and they solved the problem of size. I suggest you tell people to "lock" the glass cook top prior to cleaning it because if one cleans it and rubs across the dials the cook top beeps and locks up; and the main power breaker has to be reset. Best to clean while the cook top is in the locked position. Please add this to your owner manual!

Love the smooth top with no knobs for cleaning. However, every time I swipe to clean it is very sensitive and beeps easily and wont allow me to try to stop it until I turn on and off etc. One time I got F1 and E1 signal and had to go to breaker to reset it. Hope that isnt going to be a regular occurance.

It is new and I am still learning, but love it so far.

It is a cooktop, so I use it for preparing dishes that need a heat source for cooking.
