Dissapointing purchase

I bought this dishwasher for my new construction home because I had a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher in my last house and loved it. The first problem is that it does not dry completely leaving water on the back and sides of the unit. The dishes always come out with an odor. I guess it's because they are not drying correctly. I have cleaned the filter several times and we have only had it since June. I also wipe the unit out after use which I feel should not be necessary. The clips to remove the third rack are flimsy, and one has already broken. The top rack does not fold down, making it very difficult to load items especially a coffee maker carafe. Overall the dishwasher does not seem roomy for a tall tub unit. I can't put my cookie sheets on the bottom rack because of this. My old Kitchen Aid was six years old when we sold our house, and was so much better made then this piece of junk. I could load all of my dishes, pots, pans, and cookie trays with no hassles, and it dried everything completely with no odor. I am so disappointed with this purchase!

I selected this panel ready dishwasher under the recommendation of the salesman at the appliance store that our builder uses. Things were disappointing from the get go. First of all in our old house we had a very basic dishwasher that builders put in but it worked. This dishwasher must have leakage from the top of the dishwasher because the finish on the custom panel has bubbled and is peeling in some areas. It also doesn't dry the dishes completely and this past weekend it decided to leak out of the corners. I happened to walk by the dishwasher on the way to the sink because I needed a drink of water to take my vitamins and I saw a puddle on both sides below the dishwasher.....and you know what else happened? My new cabinets on either of the dishwasher absorbed the water, swelled and separated. So now I have to find out if these customs cabinet can be fixed or if they have to be replaced. In the 19 years we lived in our other house we never once had these issues of leakage or not drying. I should have checked the reviews here before selecting this dishwasher.

New models perform poorer than old | Warantee not honored

The newer models are poorly designed and perform worse than the older models they are replacing - less capacity, noisier, poorer cleaning and drying performance. Here are the details that fit within the limited number of characters supplied by this site. We ordered the Kitchenaid ("KA") model KUDE70FVPA panel ready, integrated dishwasher in '11. This unit performed admirably until '16 when the touch panel began to malfunction. Fortunately, all electronic parts were still covered under the original KA warrantee. Unfortunately, KA decided to stop manufacturing the touch panels. A call from customer service said that, in consideration of the replacement part no longer being manufactured, KA would offer us a discount on a new replacement machine. So rather than having the performing machine fixed without cost to us under the terms of the original warrantee, we were now being offered the "option" to spend $750 for a new replacement. KA said that they would provide installation of the new machine and removal and disposal of the old machine, but would not uninstall and reinstall the custom panel. That would be at our own expense. When asked why KA would not provide no cost replacement, KA said that they could not provide a no cost replacement because the non-electronic parts of the machine were no longer under warrantee. But, I said, 1) it was KA's decision to discontinue manufacturing the module that controls the entirety of the unit prior to the end of the warrantee period and 2) how is that we get our unit to work at all without the control panel. No reasonable answer was provided. After weeks of negotiating, we got KA down to $320 for the new machine and they would pay to have an installer of our choice completely install the new machine. The new machine is terrible - doesn't clean well, doesn't dry the dishes, is noisy and has less capacity. In fact, we took the rack's from the old machine and used them in the new in order to get our dishes to fit. So disappointed!

I love my dishwasher, I do not need to rinse or soak anything for the first time ever. The sound level is extremely low:) so I can run it and watch a movie and completely forgot that it is on.the panel was easy to install. The band in the bottom would be punted by my contractor to match the toe kick and voilà

I regret buying this dishwasher.

Don't chose the dishwasher with the custom panel until you read this!! We recently had our kitchen remodeled, and as a result, bought all new appliances. I used a local appliance company, and when it came to the dishwasher, they recommended one with a custom panel to match my new cabinets. Stupidly, I said okay. There have been lots of problems with this choice. First, we had to find a handle which had to be specially ordered which took about two weeks. Second, we couldn't use the dishwasher without the handle-we couldn't even open it. Third, our cabinet maker made the cabinets first and the panel for the dishwasher last. So the panel for the dishwasher is ¾ shorter than the cabinets, and there is no way to correct this because the panel can't be lengthened (the door wouldn't open) and the custom cabinets can't be shortened. Fourth, KitchenAid provides no template for a hole in the panel to show the dishwasher cycle light. After a lengthy chat session with KitchenAid, I was told it was up to my cabinet maker to find and drill a hole. And lastly, my entire kitchen is white, grey and maple except for the bottom of the dishwasher which is five inches of black metal. I wish I had gone with an all white dishwasher.
