I bought a whirlpool because I wanted a long lasting well built product. that is not what I got. just two months old my dishwasher stop draining , I remove the drain hose and found impeller was broken . call whirlpool customer service agent was very nice, wanted me to buy ext service contract. I told her lets wait and see how my problem is handled. where has workmanship gone !

This model cleans better then the Previous Whirlpool dish washer which only lasted 2 years.

Well we replaced a 25 year old Maytag with this unit and in all fairness to the energy star rating it is quiet, it does clean the dishes but the normal cycle is 3 hours long! Using the sanitize and heat dry brings that down to 2hours and 50 minutes. That really isn't my biggest knock on this thing. NOTHING fits in the racks. Our bowls and glasses don't fit in the top rack the way pictures show you. Our everyday plastic mugs are too wide to fit in the proper space making it impossible to put two rows of glasses or our side bowls and glasses in the top rack. The bottom rack is fine for flat dishes but pots and pans, they take up more space and so as energy efficient as you want to be there is no way you're getting all of your dirty dishes into one load. That's 6 hours of clean up time. I'm sorry but it just isn't as versatile as the old one from 25 years ago.
