I wrote a review on 8/19/17 praising this dryer. I still feel it is a good machine. It dries well, good features, good capacity. However, it makes a clicking noise from what I understand is the gas valve operating. This clicking noise happens quite frequently and can be very loud at times (can hear from another room). Maytag sent a service tech out and I was told this is normal. It would seem normal for the gas valve to open occasionally, but several times within several minutes seems excessive. I will have to monitor it and see if it gets worse. By the way, my daughter has had the same dryer for two years and I don't think I have ever heard hers click.

We bought this steam model and planned to stack it. There is no stack kit for this model (MGD) only model (MED). The MED model series does not fit the MGD series. The dryer was supposed to come with a Y connector and a short hose for the steam connection - none were provided. When I looked for parts for this model, MGD5500FC, Maytag says this model number is invalid. AVOID THIS DRYER MODEL.

I have had this dryer over a month now and it is a nice improvement over the 10 yr old dryer I replaced. Capacity is good, dries clothes nicely, like the many features. Has performed well so far, hope it continues
