A STEP BACK

This washer does not drain pet hair because the holes of drain are too small and the inner rubber door moulding collects hair and grips it, preventing release to drain. We owned Maytag Neptune Series from 2003-present, and never had this problem, drain was much larger and clothes were clean. I gave another review and Maytag suppressed my review as it does not show.

We purchased this dryer as a pair (see my washer review MHW8200 (FC, not FW). We invested in Maytag (again), as original owners of our working Neptune Series (2002). The dryer still worked well. The problem with this dryer is that air circulates only through the bottom 2/3s of the lint screen. Even when the lint screen gets super saturated, it recycles the extra hair back into the load, rather than fill in the top 3rd of the screen. Correct me if I am wrong, but does it take world class technology to engineer a dryer to have air circulate on a complete lint screen? Very disappointed, as my Neptune, with almost 2 decade-old technology, performed better. Make sure you get a three pack of the biggest lint rollers you can find if you choose this dryer (and washer MHW8200FC).

After many years I had to replace my old dryer. I feel like I walked into the 30th century! I love my Maytag washer/dryer set sooo much I'm thinking of quitting my job and start taking in laundry. The dryer has all the bells and whistles without being overwhelming to operate. Thank you Maytag for making a quality product and here in the USA...
