I wrote to you about this problem back on March 28,2017. Both Whirlpool and their Factory service representative left me out in the cold. I was at a loss as to what to do - was suing the answer? After much thought, I contacted a local Whirlpool repair service. With much persistence on their part, they replaced computer board, wires, and motor. It took about three months to get all the parts to work as a unit. The machine is working great now and on the recommendation of the independent service person, I did extend the warranty just because the parts are so expensive. However, this machine should have worked properly to begin with. It was a very frustrating six months and I am very grateful not to Whirlpool, but to my independent repair serviceman for caring about the problem enough to work on the machine until it functioned properly.

I love how this dries stuff. It takes a lot less time to dry things in the dryer since this gets so much of the water out first. I also love that I can put in detergent and it automatically decides how much it needs to use. I'm using much less these days.

I love this washer. In particular, I love how dry clothes come out of it. Items that I once would have needed to throw in dryer are practically dry. Maybe that is why my towels seems fluffier when they finally come out of my old dryer. All the bells & whistles were initially a little intimidating, but the instructions booklet makes it all so clear. After a couple of uses, I now feel like an expert.

We've had this washer for a couple days now. So far so good. We had owned one of the original Whirlpool/Kenmore HE front loaders, which served us well for 16 years despite lots of iron in our water. I resent having to pay an extra ~$200 for "closet depth", which preserves roughly the same depth as our old washer, but size does matter in our small utility room. I suppose all the new bells & whistles they've added have made it harder to squeeze it all into the same sized box. I like the Load & Go bulk-loading detergent dispenser, not only for its convenience but also to ensure we don't gunk up the works with more suds than necessary. I also like the Fan Fresh option and Wash & Dry cycle, which (along with high speed spin) should help minimize time in the dryer. I'd have paid extra for the matching ventless heat pump dryer, but there was a long wait time, plus I was turned off by Whirlpool's placement of a cooling fan on the bottom rear of the machine (which would be hard to access for ~monthly cleaning). I figure the washer's features can help reduce dryer energy use, regardless. I'm not giving it 5 stars yet (since it's too soon to judge reliability).

RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS WASHER!

I purchased two washers. They are extremely loud. I had a service technician in my home servicing another appliance who asked what the noise was. He walked into the laundry room and couldn't believe how loud the washers were. I called to schedule a service appointment because of the sounds they were making and the service Rep wouldn't even schedule a service call. Rep "Barbara" said that is just the way they are made. Nothing wrong. Really? If your pastime is going to the airport to listen to the jets taking off, you are going to love this machine.
