I absolutely hate this machine. I've had Maytag for years and this design with the water sensing was not thought out. It certainly wasn't people tested. I've tried all settings with different types of loads, there is never enough water when washing. Sometimes the rinse cycle is OK, but often clothes are still dry on top, even when doing special loading instructions. And if a blanket gets off center, the machine walks... and you can't get inside to adjust because they have a lid LOCK!!! To adjust clothes you have to stop the machine, it drains and then you have to start all over with another cycle. Don't buy this if you have a large family. I hate it and there are only two people in the house.

The Right Amount of Water

I have discovered how to work around the lack of water when using this washer; simply choose a different setting. That's really all there is to it. If you really want the washer full, just set it to the "Bulky/Sheets" setting and you'll get exactly what you want. Otherwise, using the "Handwash" cycle works really well for wash loads that are a bit smaller. The washer is set up with all sorts of "inconvenient" resource saving devices - otherwise, it does do a great job of cleaning. You simply have to get used to how it works. For the price, turning the dial to a different setting to get what you want - no big deal. One thing I don't care for though, is that I can't pause a cycle long enough to soak without the all of the water and soap automatically emptying. I prefer the ability to be able to stop a cycle and change/extend the time if I need to.

Does not use enough water, no matter where it's set.

I bought this 6 weeks ago and I hate it. Not enough water half washes my clothes. I do not like it.
