Not my old Maytag

My 17 yr old 20 cu ft Maytag died and I replaced it with this--it is hard to get a large refrigerator in and out of my old house. I was shocked at the lack of storage space--the crisper drawers are too small for a good sized head of cabbage. The gallon storage is much less interesting to me than having room for milk plus juice plus wine. The crisper drawers no longer run on wheels, but slide with friction into the refrigerator. Tough to close and they keep getting caught on the tabs that control humidity. If you make pots of stews and soup, there is little room for all else. If you are a gardener and eat a plant based diet, you have inadequate room for all your vegetables. The deli drawer is ridiculous. Maytag, bring back the old 20 cu ft model....

We purchased this refridgerator a month and a hafe ago. It was delivered and setup on July 27th. This is the first bottom freezer fridge that we have owned and we are very happy with it at this time. The last couple of fridges we owned had ice and water through the door. These were always a problem and we elected to get a model that did not have these options. We are happy we did. This fridge is efficient and quiet and if the quality is like the other Maytag appliances we own we will be very satisfied.

Door shelves waste space

The door shelves, with their rounded ends, waste space. And while, split shelves offer flexibility for items of different heights, there would be more linear storage space if the shelves were continuous. Also, the water fill valve for the ice maker is extremely noisy. Our 1993 refrigerator, which this replaced, had a very quiet original valve. About 1 year ago, that valve was replaced and I was never happy that the replacement was noisy. The valve on this refrigerator is much noisier even than the replacement.
