Nice style, but mechanical problems.

Our old Whirlpool refrigerator suddenly stopped cooling after about 16 years. We were told by the appliance store that it probably had died of old age. So, we decided to purchase an updated French-door style Whirlpool, rather than attempting a repair. We decided to have the professionals install the new unit in order to avoid potential damage to our new hardwood floors. Unfortunately, the floors were gouged by both rollers during installation. While the installers should have been more careful, the rollers on the Whirlpool could have been designed to carry the weight of the refrigerator without damaging hardwood floors. After two weeks of operation, the freezer suddenly began to warm, allowing partial thawing of the compartment, ice formation, and eventually water dripping onto the floors. The freezer regained function, but will be checked for potential problems. It is possible that the freezer compartment door was not closed completely. The freezer door glide action is sloppy, not precise, and could lead to closure problems. Vegetable bins have a similar problem. Finally, shelves do not extend completely to the back of the refrigerator compartment, allowing items to fall over or rattle when doors are closed. Whirlpool R&D should address these mechanical problems for a better quality product.

I needed a counter depth and this one is great for my small kitchen. Love having the water dispenser inside door. Gives front a cleaner, uninterrupted front. Ice is made really quickly. Love my new fridge.

After several service calls because of no ice or water, a bad filter was found in new refrigerator, after that everything worked and was great.

I absolutely LOVE this refrigerator! Everything I wanted and more! The best thing that ever happened in our house was to have our 32 year old refrigerator die . . . Love the lighting; love not having to bend over to look in the fridge; love the clear bins to be able to see what's where; love the large door shelves that can hold larger items; love the freezer with the pull-out rack! We've had it for over two months and I still rave about it! My husband knew it was a hit when he caught me hugging it - never thought I would say appliances make me feel happy but this refrigerator truly does truly make me happy!
