Disappointment over a dud

Outfitted my kitchen with Kitchenaid appliances. This unit has had 5 calls for a malfunctioning ice maker. One tech accidentally blew the logic board while testing the icemaker on one call and said "there's your problem, the logic board". I saw the sparks his tool caused and just shook my head. I have an extended warranty which seems to be pointless as the promised stand behind and replace it doesn't occur. Friday tech's came following Kitchenaid factory recommendations to replace parts, including a pump and all wiring in the unit. I had called and said I doubted the wisdom of replacing these since it would gut the unit. The result, a completely non-functioning unit deemed "irrepairable" by the techs. Let's see if warranty will do something this time.

I bought this refrigerator/freezer unit through an appliance distributor. It was immediately faulty, the items in the top refrigerator half freezing all the time. Numerous times a repair person came to "replace parts," all the time, the parts not fixing the issue. The unit was finally replaced, and the same issue continues. I can't call that first unit a lemon. I think the entire product is faulty. We built out our entire kitchen to accommodate this undercounter unit, and there is literally no other replacement. I am stuck and at a loss.

The wire harness has been replaced twice! Poor design as the wire harness gets caught in the door. Very disappointed in this product and the poor warranty! When I called in I was told that I had to replace the part again!! The part is actually on back order! Obviously this is not an isolated problem and Kitchenaid should recognize that there product is faulty and compensate buyers!!!

I bought this item for a small efficiency apartment it broke almost immediately and the wiring harness continues to be chewed up by the drawer glides. Nothing is under warranty and each repair costs over one hundred dollars plus several hundred dollars for parts. I have similar sub zero models which are much more expensive but they work. Too bad because this is a beautiful looking machine, but for the money it should work.
