This was built in to my custom home in the cabinets as a set with my freezer. The compressor on the fridge went out. So many other reviews say them same thing. Its beautiful looking and has worked well up until this weekend when it just suddenly quit. They are super expensive, and since they come in a set to get a new brand and replace both is over $3,000. Trying to decide if I want to fix it or just give up and get something different. Don't buy this one.

Had to buy both freezer and fridge due to size of our built-in cabinets. Not happy with this purchase at all. Purchase date was Jan 2014, approx 3k in total. Fridge is already dead ... requires new compressor. Had to book off work twice for a Whirlpool technician to come because the first one refused to even examine the unit without having the sticker on the inside door of the unit available for him to look at (in spite of being shown the full manual and bill of sale from purchase). Finally got the owner of this Whirlpool approved place to send his service tech back and do a proper diagnosis. Diagnosis = compressor. And oh, it's not covered under any warranty. Warranty is only a limited one year warranty. This is now my 8th day without a fridge. Needless to say, this is fairly stressful for a family with kids to feed. My husband is on the phone (again) with Whirlpool right now. Looks like I will be stuck buying another Whirlpool product unless I decide to replace both the fridge and freezer. Talk about bad options. LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE. DO NOT BUY.

Fridge is only 2.5 years old and quit already. Apparently a common issue with this product, I wish I had never purchased it. I would give it a zero stars. Now I need to replace both the fridge and freezer because they no longer make it. Another $3000, I will not buy whirlpool again or ever recommend any of their products.

you'll get one good year.

ran fine for one years, then got increasingly noisy. quit after 4 years. smaller motor does not mean high efficiency, it just runs more and wear out faster. previous freezerless frig lasted for 20 years, not made anymore so tried whirlpool. would not buy again or recommend.

Should have read reviews before purchasing!

We are now on second repair trip for this model. Apparently it is Freon issue. $400-800 to fix. Thought about purchasing new one, but that is not an option since it is discontinued. Replacement model is a different size and I have matching freezer☹️.
